Your son sounds like a talented athlete. Given his current height/weight I can see why they feel he'd have even more of an edge if some extra LBM (lean body mass) was added. I have afew ideas, and regret I don't have time to be even more comprehensive. So here goes. 1. Given the food/protein intake you soy listed, I believe he still needs more Calories. Even though his protein intake looks sufficient (& should be about 1.5-2 grams per kg of body weight, so for him about up to about 160 grams/day), if Calories aren't sufficient protein can be converted to glucose for energy, not to build muscle.
